Laylatul Qadr is Approaching—Seize the Opportunity!
As we enter the last ten nights of Ramadan, we approach one of the greatest blessings of this month—Laylatul Qadr. This single night holds immense value, as Allah declares in the Qur’an:
“The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.”
(Qur’an 97:3)
Why is Laylatul Qadr So Special?
- A Lifetime of Reward in One Night
- Worship on this night is better than worshipping for 83 years—longer than most people live.
- A single sincere prayer, charity, or dhikr could bring unimaginable rewards.
- The Night When the Qur’an Was Revealed
- This is the night when the final guidance for humanity was sent down.
- It is a time to reconnect with the Qur’an and seek guidance.
- Angels Descend with Blessings and Mercy
- Allah sends down angels to spread peace, mercy, and forgiveness.
- The doors of mercy are wide open for those seeking Allah’s pleasure.
How Can You Make the Most of This Night?
- Pray extra nafl (voluntary) prayers, including Tahajjud.
- Recite and reflect on the Qur’an—let its message enter your heart.
- Make sincere du’a—especially for forgiveness and Jannah.
- Give charity, as its reward will be multiplied greatly.
- Say the special du’a taught by the Prophet (ﷺ):
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni
“O Allah, You are Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.” (Tirmidhi 3513)
Don’t Miss This Opportunity
Laylatul Qadr could be any of the last ten nights, but especially the odd nights. We don’t know if we will witness another Ramadan, so let’s give our best effort in worship.
May Allah allow us to experience Laylatul Qadr, accept our prayers, and grant us Jannah. Ameen.
