Two-Thirds of Ramadan Has Passed—How Much Have You Improved?

Ramadan is quickly passing, and we are now in its final stretch. The question we must ask ourselves is: How have we changed? Have we grown in our faith, improved our character, and increased in righteousness?

Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, wisely said:

“Hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable and evaluate yourselves before you are evaluated…”
(Muḥāsabat al-Nafs li-Ibn Abī Dunyā 2)

A Time for Self-Reflection

With just one-third of Ramadan left, this is the perfect moment to pause and reflect:

  1. Have we improved in our worship?
    • Are we praying with more khushu’ (humility and focus)?
    • Have we increased in Qur’an recitation and reflection?
  2. Have we become more conscious of our actions?
    • Are we guarding our tongues from gossip, lying, or idle talk?
    • Have we shown more kindness, patience, and gratitude?
  3. Have we drawn closer to Allah?
    • Have we made sincere du’a, asking for forgiveness and guidance?
    • Are we truly making an effort to continue these habits after Ramadan?

How to Make the Most of the Last Days

  • Repent sincerely and seek Allah’s forgiveness.
  • Renew your intention to maximize worship in the remaining nights.
  • Give more in charity, even if it’s something small.
  • Seek Laylatul Qadr, making extra du’a and dedicating time for ibadah.

Final Push for Ultimate Rewards

Ramadan is not over yet—we still have time to change, improve, and earn immense rewards. Let’s hold ourselves accountable, renew our commitment, and strive even harder in these last blessed days.

May Allah accept our efforts, forgive our shortcomings, and grant us steadfastness. Ameen.
